The Top 3 Vitamins and Minerals To Boost Your Immune System

The Top 3 Vitamins and Minerals To Boost Your Immune System
What's the number one thing that can keep us from getting sick? Staying in our beds?! Maybe, but really it's our immune system! With the flu, colds and other illnesses surrounding us, we have to keep our immunity as strong as possible. And now there is a new threat to us all—Coronavirus--which is causing a lot of worry and concern for everyone.
So how do we avoid coming down with what feels like an inevitable illness?  We all know the basics—get enough sleep, wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands, be physically active; manage your stress; drink plenty of fluids.  So, what else can we do that we might not already be doing? Focus on adding foods that contain immune-boosters and adding supplements.  Vitamins like C, A and minerals like Zinc are all important for immune support. Try adding these foods to your daily diet:
  • Vitamin C--Leafy Green vegetables like Spinach and Broccoli
  • Vitamin A--Carrots, Pumpkin, Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Pumpkin, and Cantaloupe
  • Zinc--Oysters, Crab, Poultry, Chickpeas, Yogurt, Ginger
Ginger is a great source of Zinc. Ginger has been shown to help kill cold viruses and has been said to combat chills and fever.  The sesquiterpenes are compounds in Ginger that can help by acting as antioxidants to protect us against harmful microbes and assisting in cellular repair.  They are also anti-rhinoviral — in other words, they kill rhinovirus, the virus that causes the common cold!
IN:MOTION delivers an immune-booster punch.  It contains Zinc-packed Ginger and has the added benefit of Astragulus.  Astragalus is another herb that has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a remedy for stress and illness. Recent research shows that astragalus is good for immunity, too.  People who took astragalus extract saw a significant increase in immune cell activation within 24 hours!
We hope you and your family stay well by doing the basic hygiene ritual, add some immune-boosting foods to your diet, and add some IN:MOTION  into the equation. We are wishing you and your families lots of health during this turbulent time!

Be Well!
